Grant Professionals of Lower Hudson

One of the best perks you get as a GPLH member is the opportunity to network with other grant professionals. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to the field, or a seasoned grant writer. GPLH provides a community that offers connections, support and advice that help you grow in your profession. Here are some ways you can network with fellow GPLH Members.

GPLH Connections Calls

*This is a members-only program. GPLH members receive invites and login info for our Connections Calls. Join GPLH today.

Every other month GPLH hosts a 60-minute members-only Zoom meeting where you can talk with other grant writers. You can stay on as long as you like -- from 5 to 60 minutes. Ask questions, share industry news, and listen and learn.

These calls are informal meetings, an open forum where you can get advice from your peers, vent frustrations, support one another, and share what trends we are seeing: In short, help each other Win More Grants!

Here's a sample of some topics discussed during recent Connections Calls:

  • Strategies for NYS line item grants, including when and how to contact your local representative.
  • Foundations providing STEM funding.
  • What to do when your organization is changing to a new fiscal year reporting time period vs. financial reporting for calendar-year grants.
  • How to continue to cultivate a relationship with a funder after a rejection.
  • Creating a comprehensive grant plan, including the best grant tracking software.
  • Ideas and leads for grant prospect research and overall donor prospecting.
  • Administrative fees as part of grant applications and grant administration, including the grant writer’s compensation to administer the grant
  • And more.
