Guest Speaker: Limarie Cabrera, Director of Data, Operations and Finance at the Westchester Children’s Association

Data guru, Limarie Cabrera, Director of Data, Operations and Finance at the Westchester Children’s Association, will give a presentation on some reliable data resources that grant writers can use to craft compelling needs statements, target populations, and other parts of the grant application. Some of the websites she’ll navigate include US Census Bureau FactFinder, Census Reporter, Bureau of Labor Statistics, NYS and Westchester County Department of Health, NYS Education Department including their Report Cards, Westchester County Geographic Information System-Data Warehouse, and/or Westchester Community Foundation’s The Westchester Index. ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Limarie Cabrera joined Westchester Children’s Association in October 2007 and leads their data initiative, “Children by the Numbers.” She has had extensive management, training, and marketing experience in the private, non-profit, and government sectors. Previously, she served as a consultant for New York City’s Department of Small Business Services, Manager of Training & Business Development at Public Health Solutions, and Assistant Manager of Data Census & Applications at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now part of Pfizer). Limarie received her BA from Bryn Mawr College and her MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
