Our Mission

United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community.

Our Initiatives

United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region invests in solutions to our community's biggest challenges by partnering with all sectors of the community to identify resources and leverage volunteers to make the Dutchess-Orange region a better place for our children and families. United Way’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:

  • Health: Increase access to healthy food for families in our community experiencing food insecurity.
  • Education: Develop opportunities for lifelong learning to increase families’ access to education, workforce training, and other skill-based development programs. Increase opportunities for positive youth development and literacy services to develop positive behaviors and/or read proficiently at grade level
  • Financial Stability: Improve financial access for ALICE and low-income individuals to alleviate short-term financial crises in order to increase local families’ economic position.
  • Veterans: Increase accessibility to affordable housing and legal services for veterans and their families.

Our Vision & Values

As the area's premier impact organization, United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region serves as a catalyst to increase the community's capacity to improve the lives of its citizens. This vision is driven by a set of specific values that UWDOR adheres to:
